Here's a centralized post for plotting out for the event!

Here's a breakdown summary of every prompt on the event;

Gambling Problem - The Shuten Clan is running an old-style den casino in Sai no Kawara with all kinds of games of chance to try your hand at. Shuten dealers have been trained to cheat on behalf of the house, of course.

Pleasure Palace - Tamamo has created a palace-like house of pleasure. It's essentially an extremely high end cabaret club and brothel, with both an indoor and outdoor stage for performances.

Gossip - With so many high profile clients in town for Tanabata, it's Sutoku's jobs to keep their ears open for all the hot goss they can. One thing in particular most characters will hear about is trouble in one of family of a particular finance wolf. His daughter wants to be a musician. He's trying to get her to come home. Drama ensues.

Tanabata - The usual Tanabata fun, though the Stardust-fueled magic creating the star show might make everyone feel more inclined to get in on the peace and love. What's more, the magic may impact the wishmaking itself! Take a chance, right?

"We Know Who You Are" - The infamous Iron Bear has made their presence felt. An attempted assassination is thwarted, but the finance wolf's daughter is kidnapped, and the Enma is here to make sure everyone starts talking about what they know. A tense ending to a party, but at least no one's in immediate danger. Right? Right?

Brief Rundown: Taisho-era murder-mystery murder-victim. Mild-mannered student and Just Some Guy. Literally read an entire bookstore and university library over the course of two years. Ex-time-traveller and bearer of 500 million years of reincarnation memories. Kill-Bill-style murdered his way through a military facility in a timeline that he doesn't remember. He is just a normal bookworm do not come closer.

Initial Ideas:
(In the casino he'll be in a shirt and tie as per code, but for the general festival, it's time for CONFY (art credit plus/eiichi's player))

Gambling - I'm going to be honest I never know what to do with casino stuff WHICH I FEEL BAD ABOUT BECAUSE IT'S SHUTEN'S SHINDIG AND KIND OF CENTRAL TO THE WHOLE... YAKOOZIE THING... That being said, as much as he's a wears-his-heart-on-his-sleeve weenie, he really does have a poker face when he puts his mind to it. What this means is, while he doesn't have the sleight of hand to cheat, he can tag-team with someone else on the table to look like an earnest country-mouse rube (because. he is.) and an easy mark, while his partner cleans the table out.

Alternately, while Tamamo is officially covering the catering, Minato is going to spend some time helping out at the bar. Given the relative invisibility of being a server, he could use that vantage point to keep an eye on potential troublemakers or non-Shuten cheaters, if you're a fellow Shuten looking to give them the boot, or y'know, if you're said troublemaker.

Most of the info-gathering and snooping he'll be opting out of, given he just......wants to chill out for the festival, which doesn't mean he isn't here for regular gossip :O Hang out, meet people, eat somen. He might be melancholy about origami cranes because of reasons but folding origami crane decorations for tanabata would be cute.

He certainly is enough of a nerd to see the connection between the name "Iron Bear" and Toraguma from the mythology, and also cautious enough to warn would-be investigators that prying into the boss's past might be biting more than they should chew.

"We know who you are" - Rather than haring off after the kidnappers he's going to be keeping half an eye on the remaining Moonday band members, more just to see that they're okay than out of concern they'll be targetted too. Besides that, I don't have much in mind besides rubbernecking or more gossip.

Brief Rundown:

Teenage brat. She is snarky, "over it" and basically the example of an angry teenager who doesn't know when to shut her mouth. Can seem inquisitive by virtue of trying to get people to talk about themselves so she doesn't have to talk about herself. She's still 16 though, so she's not as good at any of this as she likes to think. Very sporty, likes anything that keeps her active and busy.

She's masking a lot of grief and hurt at losing her parents four years ago, and all the ways that change completely altered the trajectory of her life.

Also she has the ability to see other powers. And, thanks to the ever generous Tenkohime, also has the ability to briefly boost/dampen other people's senses by giving them a kiss.

Initial Ideas:

ON DUTY /
— Timtam work times! Kate will be helping by waiting on tables at the Palace of Sai, serving food and drink and offering some extra seasoning to anyone who looks like they're willing to cough up the cash for a sprinkling of Stardust (from her own private stash) or a sense-boosting cheek smooch. Prices start at 5,000 yen. (Asshole Tax can and will be applied liberally.)
— I would also like for her to maybe overhear / get dragged into a conversation or two regarding the gossip prompts, so if your character has maybe been picking up stuff before settling down for food, give her the deets.

TANABATA /
— Happy mood times! Definitely gonna find Kate dancing, chatting with anyone and everyone and generally being happy. 🥺 It'll be cute.
— Wishes will be a bit more melancholy. She's gonna have some trouble deciding on what to write on these things and will probably try to brush the whole thing off as stupid. But encouraging her to participate may unlock some deeper CR if that sort of thing interests you!

Brief Rundown:

Hizen is tsukumogami-- a sword spirit. He's tired, prickly, direct, very rough around the edges, and in general not a very pleasant person. He's only had a human form and feelings for a short amount of time so he's easily overwhelmed emotionally. Hizen regards himself as more of a tool than an actual person but... he's learning.

Hizen is a skilled assassin and specializes in dirty work. All sword boys are good boys but because of certain self-esteem issues, he's convinced no one would ever believe him if he tried to be good. He's highly food motivated and gets weak whenever someone acknowledges him with basic human compassion and respect.

Initial Ideas:
GAMBLING PROBLEM
Hizen will actually be a good Shuten and wear his suit and pin for the grand opening. He's not particularly amazing at gambling but he practiced with the rest of the clan and can carry himself through some of the games now (including cheating). That said, he's going to try sticking to bouncer duty because he knows he's a better fighter than gambler.

TANABATA
As with every festival, Hizen is here to eat, drink, and have a good time. I'd love to play around with the love effects a little? Hizen is painfully tsundere and will be missing some of his friends from home to the point he miiiiiight even make a wish for them. Maybe. He doesn't want to be sentimental. I'd like to use this prompt to share some lore and develop new/current cr, though!

Also he's wearing a black yukata for this part. Can't believe Hizen is actually dressing up this month.

WE KNOW WHO YOU ARE
Hizen is actually going to be really stressed about the whole assassination attempt because when Ryouma is one of your former masters and you're a time traveling sword boy... Hizen's recreated Ryouma's historical assassinations enough times that he really doesn't want to see a new version of it!? Hizen is going to have a one track mind and try to get to the stage as quickly as possible. He'll cut down anyone that gets in his way so if anyone wants to run into one (1) feral sword boy, here is your chance.

Brief Rundown: The protag of the game a.k.a. the mostly-reluctant gopher of the cast who solves the problems of each nation because she's in the wrong place at the wrong time. In search of her brother, except no one really gives her any information about her brother, so. She'll help anyone out in a pinch anyway with or without compensation—mostly without, since her emergency food isn't here to demand payment.

Initial Ideas:
GAMBLING — Lumine will be, uh, manning the tables because apparently there's more money to be earned right there. She has a very good poker face when needed and can quickly learn the ropes of cheating, but really, she's too good of a soul so she might also just stick with bouncing people out of the casino in the end.

Fighting with people bigger than her because they're being a ruckus, bring it!

TANABATA — Tanabata and stardust shenanigans are a-go as she's listening to gossip. She ... comes from the stars?? Has a lot of references to stars?? May possibly be a star child alien?? So all these star references may bring back memories and may have her wish to see her brother again.

Otherwise, she'll be chilling around at the festival, eating (and eating and eating), hanging out with friends—I might just tag around for this for old and new CR.

WE KNOW WHO YOU ARE — Lumine won't quickly jump into the fray since she's trying not to be too conspicuous with her actions. But she'll be keeping an eye out on everyone and may react if something happens, especially if related to her clan or friends.

Brief Rundown: A good sweet tiny fluffy pink first-year college student who loves gardening and growing vegetables, wants to open her own cafe one day, and who can summon her inner rebellion in the form of a ballgown with guns. Also kind of scary when she's mad or stressed?? It's fine.

Initial Ideas:

Just as a heads' up, I won't be topleveling, but I was planning on putting up a catch-all if your character isn't tling either, so I am up for doing closed starters!

gambling - Haru does not like to cheat or lie, so is (maybe a little surprisingly) a bouncer. She's very good at being soothing and defusing tension, but she may also not-so-gently kick you out with or without Persona assistance. But she's also a good person to talk to if you just want someone to nod sympathetically while you're grousing about your shitty casino luck. Or maybe you're a fellow worker who wants company? She's good at that too. Dressed to the nines here in a suit and tie, which she will quietly but proudly acknowledge because Majima taught her how to tie a tie!!

pleasure palace - She is not here for the sex, she is just here to enjoy the performances and broaden her horizons a little. That is all.

gossip - Not much to say here, but she's going to be a little interested if she hears anything about this dad/daughter dissent, given her own experiences with a highly controlling father and... how that... went. Maybe she'll talk about it?

tanabata - Haru will be changing into a yukata for this and will definitely be more open for bonding and just getting to know people better. I'd especially like her to work on improving her CR and doing cute things like talking about the stars or what color paper to use for wishes and whatnot. She just came from an event like this back home, so she's going to be a little nostalgic and homesick.

"we know who you are" - Honestly, just checking on people here. Making sure no one was hurt in the rush or that there's no more dangerous presences. Boss was so cool though?? Dang!

GAMBLING PROBLEM: samatoki here has had some fun being a bouncer for gambling houses before, so i think having him be a dealer or even playing a few games would be fun! maybe your character can catch him cheating or something?

TANABATA: samatoki will be making a wish and enjoying the festivities. very open on this one, especially to new CR.

WE KNOW WHO YOU ARE: this will be intensely triggering for samatoki as his sister nemu was kidnapped twice ( before being brainwashed and ending up away from him ). help him calm down? he'll probably go into an oni rage or something?

Character Name: Nie Huaisang
Canon: Mo Dao Zu Shi
Faction: Tamamo - 1 Star
Brief Rundown: Chinese wizard who spent most of his youth being a sheltered, happy-go-lucky slacker committed to applying his intelligence to his hobbies and everything except what was expected of him. Then his brother died and he was forced into cynical adulthood where he eventually become a terrifying chessmaster while convincing his whole society he was an incompetent, hot mess. Since he's a clan leader in his own right and is en route to becoming Chinese wizard president in his own world, Huaisang has Big Chihuahua Energy and a tendency to take matters into his own hands more often than not. He's managed to earn Tenkohime's personal endorsement as a tactician and isn't particularly intent on climbing the ranks, viewing his current one as powerful enough to suit his purposes.

However, to cross-faction folks, he's more likely to present himself as a simple courtesan and fashion designer and keep his tactician work a secret from them. At this point, Huaisang's made a commitment to the Tamamo Clan and its ideals fullscale as well as maintaining personal security within it and is more than willing to play the role of antagonist to achieve his goals.

Initial Ideas: Huaisang's on mandatory relaxation per Tenkohime's order during this event so he's off the clock as far as work goes.

Gambling - Huaisang will be down to try out some of the games and also use the opportunity to learn more about the Shuten and gain more insight into them for personal and professional use during future conflicts. He's mostly familiar with Eastern games but he'd been interested in learning how to play other games, too. He might suggest raising the stakes Tamamo-style and barter items of clothing or personal favors to spice things up. He's more used to party games than casinos and also being a hot mess at classy, public functions.

Pleasure Palace - Instead of working himself, Huaisang will be enjoying himself as a patron and making use of his personal clout and book of drink vouchers to have a good time. He'll cover the bill for anyone who wants to try out one of the pricey drinks Tamamo has on offer in exchange for their companionship. He'll also want to check out the performances.

Gossip - Natural spy that he is, Huaisang will be right there with the Sutoku folks gathering whatever dirt and info he can dig up. Or just being a general weirdo popcorning whatever drama that unfolds. If asked what he's doing, he's just going to say he's indulging in hobbies he hasn't had time to in a while.

Tanabata - He'll definitely make a wish though I'm still deciding on exactly what. It'll probably be along the lines of a nice place to live and a business of his own to run. He wants to put roots down here and make Tenkohime's vision for the world a reality so his wish will probably reflect something along those lines. He might ramble about a similar festival in his own culture.

"We Know Who You Are" - Huaisang would be more interested in Tenkohime's sorrowful reaction than anything else about this. Chances are that he'll be too drunk to care otherwise. Or he may be passed out and sleep through the whole commotion. I'm leaning toward Rule of Funny here.

Anything else: Apologies for my slowness and spotty activity! I've been melting during the summer heatwaves here while dealing with RL so I haven't had nearly as much brain or energy for RP as I would prefer. Once it starts cooling off again, I plan to follow up more with the school/training stuff he's putting together. For now, just going to focus on CR building.

Brief Rundown: Victorian era nobleman, goth before goth was a thing. Brooding, always seen with a sword and often with a dramatic black cloak. Drinks a LOT of wine. Trial attorney for the Enma Justice Department. Deeply committed to the truth.

Initial Ideas:
Pleasure Palace Two things for this one! On the one hand, it may be a brothel but van Zieks is only here to check out the drink selection. Expensive and high quality alcohol has his attention and he's definitely purchasing a bottle of wine that is almost his monthly salary... but he's also just window shopping and seeing what the selections are, whoop! He'll try his best to otherwise mostly watch the chastest performances to be found... But!
The other thing is that I would honestly love for him to finally stop living the prudest life imaginable - please drag this man out of the closet! I'm looking for male characters to casually smooch, possibly helped along by lightly aphrod drinks. As a disclaimer van Zieks is a repressed Victorian virgin and he's going to be weird about things afterwards, so if dealing with some measure of internalized homophobia and guilt is a no-go for you then you might not want to offer your character here!
Tanabata He's not going to write wishes unless dragged into it, but he'll be there and in a comparatively good mood due to the drink and the general love-y atmosphere, whoop!
I have no specific plans here otherwise, but it'd be a good time for amiable conversation with the man if you want that!
"We Know Who You Are" It is time for van Zieks to be in his element! He'll be everywhere at once until the late morning hours when everything finally clears up for good. I can think of a few hooks here but you're also free to suggest your own! My thoughts are...
a) He's going to be interrogating people personally. This means you could either have your character (from a non-Enma faction) among the people being questioned and they could exchange plot talk...? Or this could mean that you can watch van Zieks at work from afar and witness the famed LEG SLAM - because when some Shuten Oni are particularly uncooperative with his questioning, he is axe kicking the table between them. It is impressive.
b) Enma officers of lower rank will find van Zieks watching them like a hawk - are you writing your investigations results down properly? Did you find something yet? Go control that area, it's getting restless... he's gonna be a real busybody. Officers of rank will have a better chance at actually exchanging info with him.
c) Is your character also still there when it's already way past dawn and the absolute last of people clears up? Let's commiserate in the aftermath of YET ANOTHER RUINED PARTY... van Zieks is so annoyed...

Brief Rundown: Dante is a wisecracking smartass half-demon who hunts other demons. He's the proprietor of the world famous Devil May Cry and perhaps one of the most beloved assholes to ever grace the video game industry. This reincarnation of Dante is from the fifth installment but I'm sure all of you knew that. As for his time in Jigoku-cho, he's repping the Shuten Clan and is coming back from his untimely sabbatical as of today.

Initial Ideas:

Gambling Problem - So, who wants to get finessed by yours truly? Dante is going to drain you folks of both your money and dignity if you meet him at the gambling tables. This crafty son of a Sparda knows all about Poker, Blackjack, and even Roulette. So expect him to be a major threat, especially now that he got a fresher from Toraguma and the gang.

Pleasure Palace - While Dante isn't exactly fond of hostess clubs or cabarets, he might poke around in one during the event to grab some much needed intel on those Tamamo folks. Feel free to have your character interact with him if they cross his path. Dante will be in his signature red leather duster as usual.

Tanabata - I'm thinking of having Dante dress up a little bit for the main event but I need a couple of suggestions. Mind helping a fella out here? I'm not sure what Dante will wish for but he'll definitely go just to observe the festivities. He just needs a date for the evening. (platonic friendly outings are welcomed here!)

"We Know Who You Are!" - A kidnapping, huh? There's no way that Dante won't catch wind about that. So expect Dante to start interrogating people here and there. While he might be your fun-loving wacky pizza-loving hellraiser, he has the mind of detective. He wants answers, stat!

SPEAKING OF GETTING INTEL ON TAMAMO...

aaa ariel! unfortunately i have aerith to doomsay at dante again. she got her ability to communicate with flowers back! so! earlier in the evening she gets word from the flowers that "there's someone here attending not a festival go-er, but it's hard to tell and it could easily be the kappa"... she would totally catch him early in the evening to let him know to keep an eye peeled. after the assassination attempt on ryouma, though, aerith would do her own investigating and report back to dante with um, some stuff, if you want to do that... we could handwave any of this for something lighter if you like tho!!

my suggestion for dante's outfit is to let aerith give him some red roses to spruce up his look.

Power | Chainsaw Man

Brief Rundown: Power is an arrogant, childish and impulsive Blood Fiend (basically a demon inhabiting a human body) who hates humans, loves a good fight, and has like two brain cells and all the subtlety of a brick through a window. She's slowly getting better at the whole 'making friends and valuing lives' thing, but overall, Power is basically a semi-feral cat with devil horns!

Initial Ideas:
Gambling: Power is on team Shuten, and she's gonna be a bouncer! She'll be wearing a fancy suit and everything, and will be very enthusiastic about tossing people out on their asses. She might also jump into the arena, if anyone would like to throw hands!

Tanabata: She is down to party and dance the night away! I'd love to have Power affected by some of the lovey affects; it'll remain strictly platonic, but Power is actually pretty cuddly and affectionate when she wants to be, and tends to drape over people like a cat when she's fond of them.

We Know Who You Are: Woe betides to anyone who tries to interrogate Power, she will be less than useless! She does have an extremely good sense of smell though, and can track people by their scents, so she could be fairly useful there?

Anything else: Opt-out is here, because Power is A Lot, and she's a walking spoiler for the first half of Chainsaw Man!

Canon: Cross Ange: Rondo of Angel and Dragon

Brief Rundown: Chris is from a setting with a weird discrimination metaphor that got her sent as an infant to an all girls prison island where they fight dragons in giant robots. She's timid but trying to get more assertive, can be nice to her friends but is also absolutely a little shit. She's good at sucking up to people who are confident and strong, but can still boss around her girlfriend Rosalie who acts tough and then crumples easily. The fact that no one here knows that they should treat her like some kind of subhuman is freaking her bean.

Current status: trying to figure out how to get by in a world where she's barely over five feet and a hundred pounds soaking wet, without any special powers.

Initial Ideas: Well she's not much for dealing, but she can bounce some fools... badly... if anyone wants to start trouble for some reason.

Anything else: w/e she's sixteen if that ends up mattering.

Initial Ideas:

Gambling: As a Shuten with a great poker face you better believe he's getting put up to dealing and cheating for the house. However, he's shy and switching out for bodyguard duty early: he looks absolutely non-threatening but will be Very effective in both roles lmao. I may also have him fight in the arena at long last finally?!!?! in which he will finally get to look like the cold trained killer he really is. 😶 Great night for a Shuten boy I guess.

Pleasure Palace/Gossip: Kamui will try to come here for info and promptly fail because he looks like an easy mark for courtesans. Save him, this is too much socializing for him, he wants to go home.

Tanabata: This will probably the most relaxed he'll be all festival -- previous CR please come harass him for cute picnic friend dates, new folks also welcome for light get to know you threads. His wish will absolutely be something on a "I want to spend lots of time with my friends :)" level of sap.

On the inside... let's just say there's a lot going on. I've taken her from a specific canon point also (post Chapter 159) so if you're worried about spoilers let me know!

🦋 GAMBLING: Usually if never not her thing, but it turns out she won't be terrible at it! You can find Shinobu at the tables for a short amount of time, trying her luck and walking away with just a bit more than she expected. She'll have a very pleasant smile on her face the entire time, mostly to disarm those who might be suspicious of her at first.


🦋 GOSSIP: While I won't have a prompt for Shinobu to explore the Pleasure palace she will be here and there and basically everywhere. If you wanna catch her there by all means- otherwise she'll mostly stick to around the area where the main stage is, making polite conversation and retaining info on the "iron bear" everyone is so keen on mentioning.


🦋 TANABATA: The most romantic part of the night... or most magical whichever you prefer! Shinobu will be at ease for the first time in a long time, maybe enough to even ask about your wish or what you want out of this eventful night. She'll be more likely to open up about personal goals and romance too...


🦋 "WE KNOW WHO YOU ARE." Re: no rest no sleep for the Enma. Shinobu will be first making sure that those rattled by the sudden almost-assassination are alright and calmed. She doesn't anticipate that any of the loose lips from before will be present now so instead she'll do some good old fashioned patrolling- as well as keeping an eye on those that have always been on her radar- that being certain sneaky oni.

Initial Ideas:

- Gambling Problem: Not doing any gambling herself, of course, but will be very strict on any cheating she spots, calling it out when she sees it just passing by or whatnot. May or may not threaten to cut your tongue off in the process. You'd have to be kinda bad at cheating for her to catch it, though, since even though she's got sharp eyes, she's on the gullible side.

- Gossip: Kind of her default state around here to just...chill, hang around and eavesdrop, snatching whatever snippets of info she can.

- Tanabata: Friendly platonic hangouts with established or new CR are very welcome. She'll be feeling more sentimental than usual and participating in writing down wishes.

- "We Know Who You Are": Lingering at the area for longer than she should be, likely, and keeping an eye on the Enma (at a distance) when he arrives for longer than she should be. Feel free to catch her in the act and possibly get some backstory exposition (tm) from her in the process.

Brief Rundown: Boy from fantasy medieval Kowloon Walled City in a wuxia-turned-up-to-11 setting gets blessed by the sun god, which sounds like a good thing except most people think it's demons instead. He's a doctor's apprentice, son of a navigation god, and former brothel errand boy, with an Interesting and Exciting™ life that includes highlights like "three kidnapping attempts on him", "tried to blackmail a god", "nearly got murdered by a sword spirit", and "discovered an ancient conspiracy".

Skylark's one of those people who seem pretty polite and mild-mannered, which he truthfully kind of is, but he's also quite sarcastic and sometimes wishes going apeshit was a more valid option. Very tolerant about weird shit even if he snarks about it, sometimes reads as just Deeply Tired. Very responsible and mature except when he forgets self-preservation is super important, actually.

Initial Ideas:
Gambling Problem - Skylark will be playing at the tables and doing some dealing, cheating very well after he lets patrons win a round or two in an attempt to encourage them to keep playing. Maybe you're also cheating for the house and in on it with him! Maybe you're the one getting cheated!

He won't be doing any bouncer duty but may need some help if there are any patrons who get a little heated that they're losing to a kid or had too much to drink.

Tanabata - He's going to be in a good mood thanks to the stardust effects, and he'll be writing down some wishes and maybe a bit nosy about others' wishes. Do you want to watch him be a Sap(TM), or get some lore? Both current CR and new CR are welcome!

long-slain infamous demon from the heian era, shuten is a hedonistic oni who once terrorized the ancient capital of kyoto with her oni gang, known for kidnapping young girls, eating them and getting beheaded for it. she's a menace who loves to drink, party, fight and indulge in beautiful girls and handsome men. that said, she's also mysterious and elegant, and maybe she secretly kind of wants to be closer to humans even if she jokes about eating them all the time? :) it's complicated.

Initial Ideas:

shuten will be dressing nice and cute for the whole ordeal!

• gambling problem: shuten will be decently successful pulling one over on folks. as mentioned, she'll be leaning more on the subtle/distraction method to throw people off their game, so i would love to double team with fellow shutens to get those house numbers up. i'm also all for her trying (and failing) (or not) her techniques on other gambling lost souls!

• pleasure palace: shuten is always willing to get down... and those fancy ass drinks are on her radar. totally open for going the nsfw route here! otherwise, this will be a general drinking prompt, and shuten might try to get folks to buy her a one too ♡

• tanabata: she'll be open about her wish, as this time around it isn't a particularly sensitive one. otherwise, she's here for more drinking

• "we know who you are": the name iron bear is very relevant to her, and after the commotion, it's possible to see her meet privately with toraguma. folks are free to try to ask her what they talked about but, she'll be mostly vague, cryptic and teasing

always down for intraclan and interclan cr! please keep in mind that unless your chara is the type to shrug off teasing and half-flirting threats of violence, shuten is generally pretty antagonizing, so cr with her will most likely lean negative before it becomes positive.
