Want to jump right in? This month's Substories are posted here!. As for what's been going on...

Just like the TDM set up, Jigokucho is in recovery mode after the dissipation of a curse that befell the city. It was a full-on horror apocalypse.

The curse is gone, there are rumors stirring that the turf war has ended, and the Kappa are all going back down to work on building… something. It’s all pretty hush-hush, but anyone that’s not in the Department can ask freely about it. The Enma has bigger things to be concerned with already anyway (namely the newly named cause of the curse: Haniyasu).

So what does that mean for the next two months? Well, between whatever it is being cooked up in the Underground and everything else, the theme of these two months is Tanabata! How that celebration takes shape in a place like Jigokucho will be revealed as the month goes on, so stay tuned to find out more!

My biggest fandoms right now are Suda51/Grasshopper Manufacture, Ace Attorney, Zero Escape, AI: The Somnium Files, Breaking Bad/Better Call Saul, Westworld, and Sherlock Holmes & its many adaptations. Character Name: Yujin Mikotoba
Canon: The Great Ace Attorney
Character Age: 43
Faction: Sutoku, with the rest of the nosy nellies
Brief Rundown: Yujin Mikotoba is a Japanese professor of forensic pathology (and yes, a doctor) from ~1900 Japan. He's a father (and foster father), teacher, and mentor; he also had the opportunity to study abroad in London, where he worked with and befriended a certain Dr. John Watson Wilson. He had a WILD time back in the day: plot twist, he was Herlock Sholmes' Baker Street flatmate and partner all those years, not Wilson. Yep, he's the real Watson, surprise! That (and all the other crazy stuff that happened to him in London) is all on a need to know basis, though, SO... mostly, he's a polite Meiji/Victorian gentleman with a lot of hope for the next generation, so kids, he is here to support your smashing the system and whatnot. He holds absolutely NO secrets, is NOT a nosy little meddler, and most DEFINITELY won't be breaking any laws or tripping into shenanigans around hell. Why would you say that. Look at him, very normal dad over here.

Initial Ideas: Past catching up with his castmates, he'll mostly be getting the lay of the land and trying to start making connections, especially across clans. I don't have huge plans otherwise, let's WING IT (ง •̀_•́)ง✨

hi! technically as an angel shealtiel is in the 40+ club (344) but by human appearance standards and his own stunted growth he probably fits more into the troubled young adult category. shealtiel is kind of a handful so I think they could get up to some interesting shenanigans one way or another!

I'm also fine keeping the tdm! Just say she walked with him and they discussed coffee/exchanged names until they were clear of the crowds and then amicably parted ways or something.

Canon: No More Heroes (originally from The Silver Case/the Kill the Past series)
Character Age: I actually counted the timeloop years, guys. 25-27, going on...227...
Faction: Shuten
Brief Rundown: Tl;dr - he's a recovering government sleeper agent, he's a brain clone of a serial killer of the same name, he's a detective whose coworkers were just terrible, and he lived through a crazy timeloop and all he got was this t-shirt! And trauma! He's not great at being a normal person, which translates to him being very good at pretending to be a normal person, so he's polite, sort of awkward, and only a little bit of a weirdo. But he's a very nice young man if you ignore his cursed vibes and his silver left eye's evil mojo. At the very least you can trust him with any puzzles and mysteries to solve. Several months into Jigoku-cho, however, he's loosened up a lot and is slowly beginning to open up and get more comfortable just being himself. Everybody clap for the murder twink.

Kamui can sense a trait called criminal power! Please check out these permissions if you're interested; I'll only ever use these powers with player permission.

Like the rest of the game, Kamui had a no good very bad terrible last month so he's going to be lying low for the most part. He'll be working at the 7/11 as usual but also attempting to move somewhere new... his shitty apartment's ceiling is leaking leftover curse blood...

Unfortunately, Travis Touchdown is here and he's in Shuten; please direct any and all complaints to the guy who was absolutely talking him up until he got here.

I still cannot believe he is the #1 HOTBOY IN THE GAME, i'm laughing my ass off thank you Ydris for your service. He doesn't want this at all, please tease / hit on him / try to weasel that steak dinner out of him about it.

Also down for other substories, some Tanabata fluff in particular would be really cute!

CR Desires: I could say "anything" but at this rate? I think he just needs to formally kick off the time traveler/looper & immortal & cursed eyeball club(s). Why does hell keep grabbing them all.

besides that I am excited for current shoe-dropping between Kamui and the hashi guys wrt them all being time travellers. I am still up for stupid uehara-san how do you put a movie into the computer, given it'd be an opportunity to mutually go "hey, thanks for watching out for Tama"/"hey, funny story, Tama said something really weird when I went to see him,,,,,,", though I am also okay with doing something else if there's a substory that piques more interest.
