Here's a centralized post for plotting out for the event!

Here's a breakdown summary of every prompt on the event;

Bikinis - Characters who didn't have swimwear will be provided it, but they probably are gonna be on the skimpy/tacky side. Play out the embarrassment, or total lack of shame.

Shuten Clan - Shuten activities revolve around volleyball, surfing, shoulder chicken, barbeque, and drinking contests

Tamamo Clan - Tamamo activities involve a wet t-shirt contest, tiki bar, and water gun fights.

Sutoku Alliance - Sutoku activities involve frisbee games, jet skis, and underwater shenanigans

Department of the Enma - Department officers are expected to take short shifts on lifeguard duty, but in exchange get free food and drinks!

Bonfire - A free-for-all happy hour to get out the last of one's revelries before the shit hits the fan..

Cursed City - This is the big one. The containment facility the haniwa were being stored in was compromised, releasing a massive wave of cursed energy into the city all at once from Kaigo no Bou. Captain Shiki is trying to maintain order, but chaos is breaking out everywhere. Faction leaders will do what they can to protect their people, as well.

The curse energy turns Jigokucho into more of an actual hell. Blood rain, massive hauntings, frenzy inducing energy all around. Nightmares from characters own canons can and will manifest, pulled right from their worst fears and dreads.

This will be in effect for the month until a) players manage to find a solution on their own or b) a mod written ending comes about, but either way, you're free to play with this setting change all month.

We do not plan for it to last longer than this month.

Character Name: Marianna "Monts" Medina

Brief Rundown:

Just a young woman who has something weird under her skin that makes her not human. Lacks a sense of pain, has super strength, and can heal from the most fatal of injuries. The long and short of it is, is Monts can probably be considered some sort of cryptid/eldritch creature who is in a continuous existential crisis. Monts hides this by appearing friendly, flirtatious, and serene. Does in fact, have moments where she's not totally cool, but you usually wouldn't know about it. Probably a light sadist. Also, a good barista.

Her time in Jigokucho has been pleasantly chaotic, sometimes not great. Though she is without a lot of her strength or enhanced healing, Monts has been making do as a member of the Tamamo working as a charming hostess and generally getting along with those in her own faction and others. That said, the haniwa's effects have not been great for her mentally.

Initial Ideas:

Monts loves the beach, she's from the general SoCal area after all. She'll be having fun wielding a water gun filled with sake so WATCH OUT.

Basically, I'll tag out with her during fun beach times, especially around the bonfire!

But during the cursed city she will be having a time... The haniwa had already given her visions of her not!dead body and what Monts hates the most is feeling helpless and not being able to feel and do anything for herself. Her nightmare is her own self and if they're gonna manifest, this might be a good chance for her an illusion of her monster form to be seen? But it'll be an extremely vague sort of visage, but she's not gonna have a great time, either way,

I may not be top-level for any of these things, so I'll work with other people if I wanna incorporate any of the above points! ALSO I would love to do random tagouts to IC inboxes during Cursed City, I think that would be fun!

Anything else: I do have a Permissions Post that I still need to fill out, but blanket Content Warning w/ mentions of body horror due to her not being able to feel pain. I think that's all!

Initial Ideas: DRINKING AND SNACKS. Mostly the food portion of things. I can't really see her focusing on much of anything else beyond that and the drinking contest. I can see her getting into shenanigans and generally causing problems for people. Nothing all that major, probably. I can see her being talked into joining in any of the other events. Such as chicken, and maybe the wet t-shirt contest, though she'll be confused about the latter. As for the Cursed City bit- Ibaraki is probably going to freak out for a little bit.

And then immediately start looking to smash things up. Really looking for her to become actually pissed and lose her shit, flying into a Khorne-fueled Berserker rage! Iba-chan is sick and tired of all of this curse stuff! That and the evident lack of anyone actually doing anything about it. Leading to an oni ready to rip and tear until there's either nothing left, or calms down. Having her actually helping people deal with their nightmares could also be another way to go about things. Especially if she lords it over someone.

Brief Rundown: Ancient nearly god-like being that is not so nearly god-like right now. They're the type to look out for others and do what they can to help where needed.

Initial Ideas: Azem has a nice swimsuit thanks to Ydris' aid (art thanks to Pine) so they won't have to suffer the left overs.

They are absolutely down for volleyball and the wet t-shirt contest. Honestly, they're down to goof off with any games going on. They'll probably want to cuddle around the bonfire if they can find someone that wants to.

When the blood rain starts they're going to go into crisis mode. They will likely try to find and protect Ydris from it because they don't want their favorite candle to be snuffed out. They won't be too happy about otherwise feeling useless, they want to be helpful.

As for nightmare-related things, the End of Days is pretty much as nightmarish as it gets for Azem. Creation magic running amok, creating terrifying monsters that only desire to devour all life in their path. Fire raining from the sky. Just total destruction of life all around. There may also be some manifestations of other ancients not looking so great because the worst case scenario for their friends has popped into their mind more than once (also there's the fate of Azem's dearest friend).

Brief Rundown: Tengu-possessed Bakamatsu-era assassin who is just the worst kind of person. Prone to violence, yells a lot, and is tsundere. He's a CRAU from slumscape and has some body changes (sharp canines, claws, lengthened ear tips, wings, and crow legs from the knee down).

Initial Ideas:

• Bikini: So Izō will be around in a tiger striped speedo and loud Hawaiian shirt like a good Shuten.
• Shuten: He will also be playing volleyball far too competitively, playing shoulder chicken (either position), and, of course, eating and drinking to excess. Expect him to be ready to wrestle, too, because he's just in a good mood like that!
• Bonfire: He will also be found at the bonfire later, probably passed out in the sand, but generally in a good mood. Probably the best time to approach him if you don't want him being rowdy.
• Cursed City (cw for torture): Izō is going to have a VERY BAD TIME. He will be borderline feral and prone to attacking people without reason. His nightmares will manifest as feelings of crushing loneliness and abandonment, along with visions of the murders he committed and the severe torture he experienced at the end of his life. They'll be more abstract rather than literal, but still deeply unpleasant to experience.

Brief Rundown: Have you ever wanted to play a romance VN but then realize it's kind of an esoteric horror mystery? Boy, Do I Have The Canon For You! Bratty twink with aural and visual hallucinations ends up timelooping through rainpuddles because of cute boys and murder, roughly in that order.

Initial Ideas:

-Tama is going to do Battle Kites in the Sutoku area, because he did not expect waterbreathing candies to be a thing and was wholly prepared to have to stay COMPLETELY on land. Kites are still going to hold a huge amount of his focus at the party, though, and probably going to be the meat of my inevitable toplevel- he's brought the supplies, so all you have to do is duke it out!!

-He's also going to gleefully abuse the waterbreathing to try and explore every stupid inch of the indoor pool, so if anyone else wants to watch as a guy who literally doesn't know how to swim tries to suddenly navigate the bottom of an "ocean", have at.

-...he's a VN protagonist with rain (and even bloodrain in one route) and hallucinations as central themes. He's gonna try to VN protag Solve The Mystery about what happened down at Kaigo no Bou, if anyone else wanted to go Scooby Squad it up. He just got his own ability to illusion/hallucinate back, so in a fucked up way he's very slightly resistant to external hallucinations now that his own stuff is situated. It won't buy him much time on the clock, but any extra minute is worth it!!!

-Also maybe he will get to have a cute date with Minakami eventually someday though that's looking unlikely.

Brief Rundown: Extremely shady exorcist clanhead who can and will use whatever means to obtain power for exorcising youkai. His canon uses the term 'ayakashi' to refer to youkai/kami/spirits, you will see that a lot. Hates non-humans. Has a super cursed-ass eye inherited from his bloodline; the curse shows up once a month to attack him and has special permissions attached you can check out here!

Initial Ideas: Not sure if I'm TLing yet but!:

-Volleyball: since the Daitengu enjoyed it so much when they gave Matoba his shiki back and had them play tennis against each other, Matoba's shiki will be playing for shits and giggles. Anyone (particularly Shutens) want to point out this obviously very unfair match/refereeing?
-Supersoakers: Following a theme of gremlin Matoba, he will be rocking one of these and bullying whoever seems like an easy/funny target
-Nightmare Curse Hell Town: Matoba's shiki will be slithering around distributing wards that repel curse energy to Sutokus still outside in the bloodrain as shit hits the fan! They will be not much help considering the strength and amount of curse energy at play but feel free to use them as an excuse for your Sutoku character to make it back safely if you need one.

Matoba has a specific clan curse that follows him around town and attacks once a month which might also be something I'm considering coming into play if I can work something out with it. Please check the permanent opt-in permissions linked above if you're interested in it for the future!

Sheliak | OC | Shuten

Character Name: Sheliak Saarela
Canon: Original Character
Faction: Shuten
Brief Rundown:

Sheliak is a water mage, a being of pure magic inside a human vessel. He was born human but he became a mage when his goddess chose him, along with six others to gift with her magic. He was the perfect son and heir of the noble Saarela house. He dedicated his life to meeting his family's incredibly high expectations and he hides his true self, which he sees as imperfect, behind an icy mask of perfection. His world recently fell apart when his world was destroyed and he learned the nefarious truth about his magic. Sheliak and the other mages fled to Earth, through an ancient portal, where he went from being a revered mage to a monster whose magic will end the world. Feeling betrayed by the goddess that gave him his power and lost without a purpose, Sheliak hides his fears behind a mask of nobility, desperately clinging to the last fragments of the world he lost.

Initial Ideas: I will be making a toplevel for Sheliak

Bikinis - Toraguma told Sheliak to look his best so he's staying far away from the Shuten's tiger striped speedos. He will be wearing a silk version of this with white swim trunks. He has also added a small braid in his hair on one side, which was how his best friend wore his hair so he feels a bit self conscious about it.

Shuten - Sheliak's magic is still sealed so his alcohol tolerance is terrible, but he's used to his magic helping him handle it better so it's the perfect recipe for disaster. Sheliak's less perfect personality slowly comes out more when he's drunk and the added competitiveness is going to speed up the switch. Sheliak's hidden personality is the side he feels he isn't allowed to show, but that he's entitled to due to him always striving to be the perfect like he is asked. He's selfish and impulsive and overall less polished than his icy noble persona. This wilder Sheliak is going to want to compete and naturally win (his arrogance is way worse, I'm sorry in advance), in everything. Drinking contest, volleyball, shoulder chicken, etc. If it's a competition, he's interested. His magic is still sealed so he's at a large disadvantage but he's arrogant enough to think he doesn't need his magic to win. He will be most interested in surfing. He doesn't know what it is but it involves water so his pride as a water mage is on the line!

As for the other clans, he will be extra competitive towards Tamamo. At some point he will discover the Sutoku waterbreathing candies and he will try to take a much desired underwater nap with questionable results. I'm sorry Enma lifeguards for this stubborn fool who will keep trying to sleep underwater until someone manages to stop him. He misses his favorite napping place.

Cursed City - Sheliak will have a terrible time with the cursed energy and I'm planning on playing with two different ways the nightmares will manifest.

The first is a corruption of Sheliak's personality. He's a being made up of magical energy, that is tied to a human soul. The purpose of his magic is to destroy the veil between the real world and a magical dimension that was created by humanity's imagination. If magic flooded the world, it would catastrophically alter the world, destroying the world they know. Sheliak harbors a deep fear for his magic's potential and his role in destroying the world. The cursed energy is going to corrupt the magic within him, and weaken his human hold on it, affectively turning him into the chaotic entity he would be without Sheliak's human soul to keep it in check. Sheliak's magic is still sealed so it will only affect his personality, making him extremely violent and destructive.

The second one is a manifestation of his fear of death. (Sorry for another long section of lore) Water mages can predict death. If their visions are vague and fragmented then they can potentially save someone if they piece the pieces of their vision together. However, the clearer the vision is, the closer that person is to death and if they see a perfectly clear vision of someone's death, there is nothing they can do to change their fate, no matter what they try. Sheliak has seen the death of two important people to him. His young sister, and his best friend and lover Arrakis. He predicted Arrakis's death when they were 17, Arrakis figured it out and they both lived with that terrible knowledge for years before Arrakis died. The fact that he couldn't keep it secret from Arrakis is his greatest regret.

His nightmare is going to be a grim reaper version of Arrakis that resents him for predicting his death.

I'm very excited to play with both of these concepts! When Sheliak isn't being haunted by his mistakes and what he is, he is going to try to distract himself by trying to solve the mystery so the nightmares go away. As a side affect of being haunted by Arrakis, Sheliak is also going to be more open to helping others more, which is what Arrakis would do.

Nishitani is yakuza and has been yakuza for like, over 30 years of his life at this point. He's doing yakuza things, like getting money and bitches.

Initial Ideas:
SWIMSUIT TROUBLES
Nishitani is going to be in a tiger striped speedo and very happy with it. Strangely, it looks like one he bought himself, and not one Toraguma provided.

BEACH GAMES
Shuten: Nishitani is a baseball kind of man, not so much volleyball but he will be try to learn surfing, playing beer pong, get involved with the drinking game, and also be rowdy with other Shutens
Tamamo: He will likely get involved in the sexy watergun fight, somehow, which no one will like.
Sutoku: will likely have to beat him away from anything motorized bc he WILL be too drunk to drive.
Enma: he will hit someone with the stick considering how much he'll have drunk at this point. don't even let him know there's suikawari (aka please do)

BONFIRE
Food will sober Nishitani up a bit, and he'll be feeling particularly amorous, as usual, towards anyone willing.

AND THEN...
Nishitani will be out with Andy trying to rescue people after checking in with Toraguma and the other Shuten's, so I'm really sorry to anyone who gets saved by this pair. They will likely try to stab literally any bitch that gets close to them but that does include people who aren't cursed energy demons :')

Initial Ideas:
Summer Fun - Musashi will absolutely play volleyball and take it way too seriously, and sees no reason to not participate in a wet t-shirt contest. And of course she will take advantage of the romantic mood of the bonfire to catch up on all of the people she's been flirty with, as well as drink and eat herself into tomorrow's regrets.
Helltown - ... if she makes it to tomorrow, anyways. Musashi doesn't have a lot of fears, but there is one existential thing hanging over her like a sword of damocles, and i kind of want her CR to experience what it's like for her to literally seem to be "deleted" from the world, and perhaps even from their own memories.

Brief Rundown: You know him, you love him, the idiot Sword Boy of the 1997 classic is back, but this Cloud's a little more softer and tender-hearted and maybe just a bit more unhinged. You know, normal things.

Initial Ideas:

• Bikinis Cloud has on a vintage swimsuit(particularly the ones on the left) underneath one a' these. Please feel free to mock and/or ogle at your character's discretion.
• Shuten Clan: DAITENGU TOLD HIM TO WIN SOME VOLLEYBALL, HE'S GONNA WIN HIM SOME VOLLEYBALL. Notably Cloud has his baseline enhancements back and if he gets the hint you are even a little bit on par with that he will not hesitate. Please get into volleyball fights with this nerd.
• Tamamo Clan: Cloud will not be entering the Wet T-Shirt contest unless people pressure him into it. ...But you can pressure him into it.
• Cursed City: This is the big one. Cloud has gotten his basic Mako enhancements back so he's going to try and delve as far into the darkness as he can get away with - he won't be making it to Ground Zero right away (as that, as the mods have indicated, would be exceedingly fatal) but he's going to be probing deep enough that he's going to try and drum up interest to get to the bottom of this, because he's a stupid JRPG protag and this is exactly his kind of horseshit. May involve collaborating with fellow Sutoku Tama (see above). He will also be diving into people's nightmares and beating up manifestations with either an oversized parasol or a street pipe (as Cloud... still doesn't have his sword back and is persnickety about using something other than his sword), so if you would like Cloud to dive into your characters' nightmares and be the weird swordboy who bails them out (since, really, nightmares are... unfortunately common for him), please feel free to say so!
• I am also up for other things not on this list I just don't have any other ideas because it's 2 AM and I'm screaming. Please feel free to pitch ideas. I love ideas.

Brief Rundown:

Per my permissions post for Aerith: Straight-forward and rebellious, Aerith wears her mischievousness like a badge of honor. She's a spunky young woman and shrewd business woman, having spent a great deal of time selling flowers— As a naturally adaptable person, she's surprisingly street smart even though she definitely comes off as being very quirky. Aerith is sweet, kind, flirtatious and snarky; she's got a biting sense of humor that probably feels a bit pointed with how perceptive to others she is.

For this event, I would really like for Aerith to play as many games as possible with people! She has spent a large chunk of her life feeling isolated and lonely, and struggled to keep long standing friendships going. Remake also shows that Aerith has been forgotten at least once during a game of hide and seek, and with Six gone, she'll be struggling a lot more than she shows with that loneliness.

Also: I really would love for her to start working on her reputation in game. I'd love for someone to bring up starting up her floristry business again: it's come up in game before, but she could always use a little more nudging.

Initial Ideas:

🎀 Bikinis? Bikinis. Aerith is attending in full vintage swim regalia, trying to look her best for the event. You are free to look but she has a staff that can cause concussions. On a more sincere note, I would love for her to gas up some friends, and play flirty with pre-existing CR for this. She needs something light after getting her heart broken ...(*￣０￣)ノ
🎀 Volleyball. Who wants to play? She's going to be Cloud's loudest cheerleader, at least, if not out there with him whenever she can.
🎀 W...Wet T-shirt contest....well, someone has to do it.
🎀 Hallucinations! I would love to play with this abstractly. Since Aerith struggles with abandonment, isolation and refusing to actually deal with her feelings, I would love for her to experience symptoms like Hallucinating she's alone and cannot perceive anyone near her, or being "trapped" where people can't get to her, as if she's been spirited away. If you had CR with Aerith prior to this event, I am super open to having her hallucinate being stuck back in her room at Shinra. This is where you can unlock the knowledge she's the last of the Cetra, as well as her tragic backstory involving watching her mother be experimented on while she grew up in a lab.
🎀 Aerith will be working on a medicine with Emily and Shylock to help with the hallucinations. If/When they're successful, she'll be letting anyone and everyone know and scrambling.
🎀 In the mean time: Pray shakily works. I would love to have it fail in some threads, or work for a period of time in others. At the very least, she's directly ignoring orders and is going to be doing her best to try and use Pray to lead people to safety back in their clan's territories. Sorry, Tenkohime, it's for the good of Jigoku as a whole...!!
🎀 Finally: Whatever Cloud does involving Ground Zero, Aerith will be there! Let's all support Cloud Strife together ✨

HELLO.... considering Minakami here is partnering up with Tamamori to investigate the horrible hellbloodrain and it seems like they're gonna collide with Cloud and Aerith's efforts, I wanted to touch base here.

swimsuit trouble: i'm going to be nice and put him in something semi-normal. but he's definitely down to help others in their searches, whether its futile or not.
shuten clan/beach party shenanigans: he'll participate some in all of his clan's activities, but where he'll excel is shoulder chicken and the drinking contests. his tolerance is pretty high. i am very open to anything here, though! including cross-faction shenanigans with tamamo perfume, samatoki trying to sneak onto a jetski, etc. come at me.
cursed city: i'm open to anything here as well. samatoki is already prone to things like this with his psychosis and PTSD, so he might do a little better than others and seek to take care of them. he's working with emily medicative in her clinic, mostly learning at this point, but he'll at least be able to direct souls to her and help them in the field if need be. i'd like to have samatoki in the help role here!

Surprise he's actually Raiden Metalgearrising, if Raiden just did not have a killing instinct outside of highly specific circumstances.

Initial Ideas:

- He is going to try his best at volleyball and he has pretty darn good reflexes for a baseline human, but in a competition versus people with carte blanche to use superpowers he is going to get his ass kicked. It is just the way of the world.

- On the other hand, he is bafflingly capable of holding his liquor. Your boy drank a two-litre bottle of sake once, biked home, made out with a guy, and woke up an hour later with no ill effects other than being uncharacteristically chatty. He's going to be irritating at the drinking contest, but also a lot more talkative than usual, whether at the bonfire or just poking his nose into other faction activities.

- He also brought his newly-regained sword because he was worriedly expecting this to be the Daitengu's Funeral 2.0... which was the wrong instinct but also the right one?

- When all hell breaks loose, he's going to be sticking with Tama like glue -- after his run-in with his personalized haunting during the mini-event, he's at least a little braced for it to happen again this time. As with Tama's plotting post, I am interested in investigating what breached Kaigo no Bou's defenses and finding a way to approach the tower without risk of horrible death. If your characters are figuring out wards for the curse effects, even temporary ones, I'd love to touch base!

As is important for this event: he has a firm sense of normalcy that he's used to, and coming to Hell is the first time that this sense has ever been challenged in this way.

Initial Ideas:
Pool Party: I'll be using the pool party as a way to make more CR/deepen existing CR! Kim will be happy enough to be a participant or observer to a lot of it. Needless to say, he won't be in a bikini like everyone else (he's a t-shirt at the beach kinda guy), but he'll be in awe of the general atmosphere and will be happy to help people be reckless with the jet skis. He'll agree to volleyball with a little persuasion, but will otherwise just be hanging out. Let me know if you want a low-key thread!

Cursed City:
• The initial swamp of cursed energy will wind up scaring him a lot! Kim is known for his unbreakable composure, so if you want to see it break, this is your chance: especially when taken by surprise, he's going to be absolutely petrified by what's happening, and is not well equipped to figure out how to deal with it. Give him a hand!
• Given that he now has a vehicle, he'll be happy to ferry people around so that they don't have to walk/wait in the blood rain and hope to provide safe passage to as many people as possible.
• He will be available to react to others' nightmares and to provide basic self-care advice: he'll remind them that sleep, nutrition, and hydration are all still important. Knowing his own shortcomings, he'll want to do what he can. He will also be available for basic first-aid in the case that anyone else gets injured.
• For any investigative minds, he'd be happy to collaborate to get to the bottom of what caused this -- and how one could possibly make it stop.
• "I Can't Believe I Still Need To Work In The Apocalypse: Hell Capitalism Edition": turns out, someone needs to be around to unlock the 7/11 so people have access to the food, water, first-aid materials and other goods inside. Nobody is less happy about this than Kim.
• For his own nightmares, I'm happy to chat about what could possibly pop up, though I'll probably be doing these more as custom starters. First impressions for some key notes. A kind, friendly woman who puts her work before herself, and would love it if she could pass as normal for the rest of her life. Actually a survivor of a looping death game and so used to rolling with the absurd, horrific punches as well as having a slightly skewed concept of how much a human should deal with. A trained doctor, who works as a singer at a Sutoku owned club and also has set up a medical clinic to treat everyone regardless of faction - just don't mention it on the network.

She's here as a Slumscape CRAU, which means she's also currently sharing her body with a tengu spirit who takes over whenever they feel like, as well as having wings as her most visible physical change. The bird does make occasional commentary on her life, but never pops into a thread without an ok.

Initial Ideas:

Beach Party: So, Emily will be attending like a good Sutoku representative, having fun and making sure people don't overheat! For the most part, this is where she'll be trying to relax and enjoy herself. She might be floating by in an inner tube on the water or on the shore - deep water dives don't really agree with wings, but in general, it'll be a nice time. Also, Aerith talked her into a bikini, so she's trying to adhere to more modern values for this time! Whatever kind of cute and fun beach activities you want, hit me up so we can make it happen.

Cursed City: This is the big one, and where I'll be focusing most of my energy.

• Unfortunately, blood rain like this driving people into horror and madness is a pretty big Nope for her, and will immediately send her into panic mode, believing that this is a sign that the world is literally going to start falling apart - it's also going to severely set off the tengu spirit inside her, who may burst out at unexpected moments. The both of them are going to be vulnerable to losing their cool at different moments this entire month, so let me know if you're cool with dealing with that.
  
• Her immediate reaction once calmed down will be to grab Aerith and Shylock to work with her on a medicine/incense to provide a stopgap to the cursed energy, both to protect people in general and to provide support for those trying to investigate the tower. When they figure that out, they'll be letting people know.
  
• For the hallucinations and fears, I'd like to open the floor to custom happenings for people, to create unique and reactive events rather than just dumping sad memories down to deal with. Ideally, we'd be able to blend what's going on to make a cool scene! Emily's nightmares come with such great topics as being hunted down, body horror, mind control, descending into feral madness, inescapable locations, isolation, and memory collapse, among others. I'll touch base to get what people are and are not ok with before writing anything, but let me know if you're interested.
  
• She'll still be there to physically help and heal the injured, but I'd like to keep that section of things lighter since I heavily focused on that during the Night Parade.

Hizen is tsukumogami-- a sword spirit. He's tired, prickly, direct, very rough around the edges, and in general not a very pleasant person. He's only had a human form and feelings for a short amount of time so he's easily overwhelmed emotionally. Hizen regards himself as more of a tool than an actual person but... he's learning.

His master used to be one of Japan's most famous assassins, Okada Izo, so he specializes in assassinations and dirty work which he kind of hates. All sword boys are good boys but because of certain self-esteem issues, he's convinced no one would ever believe him if he tried to be good. He's highly food motivated and gets weak whenever someone acknowledges him with basic human compassion and respect.

Initial Ideas:

A street punk whos not-so-secretly a "hanyou" (half-youkai). Also spiritually possessed by an Umabie due to his time spent in another game, leading him to have developed scales, gills, and fin-like ears on top of his already unnaturally crimson hair and eyes.

A lot of stuff happened in his life which lead up to him being stuck on a long a mission towards India with a bunch of murderous ruffians. Is literally a major character in a famous Chinese story. He comes off as brash and dense but thats mainly due to the fact that he's so emotionally dead inside that he just doesn't care how people perceive him any more and does his best to live every moment to the fullest. Because of that he tends to act very impulsively and is never really one to apologize for his actions.

-This idiot tried to be a good semeritain for his clan and volunteered to be the one to organize the Shuten Barbeque. The fact that he gets to wear an apron that says "eat my meat" over the Loud Shuten Swimbreifs is a benefit.

-He's actually grown up in landlocked territories his entire life so this fake ocean is the closest thing to the real deal that he's ever seen.

-The youkai possessing him is 100% going to enjoy the ocean and don't be surprised if you find him accidently brushing into people while he utilizes those gills of his for some deep water swimming.

-More than happy to get distracted by game events as to distract himself from the sight of his paycheck getting eaten away by at least a full clans worth of people.

Curses

-Will probably act completely immune to the blood rain as hes already experienced it once before in Hakagemachi.

-The nightmares though are something he'll never get over as much as he tries. He's a lot more emotionally vulnerable to a lot of things that happened to him just before Jigoku-Cho than he let's on.

-Like the death of someone really important to him

-And the fact that, even before hakagemachi, his body was slowly becoming less and less human.

-Or the fact that he got into a fight with all of his friends back home with all of them talking about abandoning him 'for his own saftey'.

Oh boy okay. Honestly? Childe will start out not just alarmingly calm but excited about the whole thing and he'll be actively seeking out both his own and other people's manifestations and helping them in the process. Fathomless darkness sort of feels like home, in a fucked up kind of way. As it goes on, however, he'll become more and more erratic. His own nightmarish visions will grow stronger, he'll be putting himself in more dangerous situations and starting to come out way worse for wear than at the beginning. CR will also notice that he's gained a mild stutter.

Overall, that means he'll be available both to interact with other people's manifestations or help them out, and be having a small breakdown of his own so however you want to play it, I'm down!
