September OOC Intro/CR Meme!

Welcome Lost Souls! And also, welcome to this round's group of new players!

Want to jump right in? This month's Substories are posted here!. As for what's been going on...

Tanabata, and the opening of Sai no Kawara in the Underground, ended in a terrible (but still mild by the way things in this game go) incident where the rebellious daughter of the ultra wealthy Finance Wolf Kaberou Kannazaki and OH BOY is that a huge bounty for her return!

With the stakes high (and personal, at least in the case of the Shuten Clan), each faction is going to be making their own attempts to Save The Girl and Get The Prize, with the Iron Bear and his clan of (possibly Haniyasu worshipping) scavengers standing between them and victory.

SO! What this means is this first month will be focus on setting the stage for a race through the wasteland, and the big event next month will focus on that, as well as which faction will ultimately succeed. SO YEAH THERE'S STUFF HAPPENING.

All the while, with spook season coming, things almost seem too normal in the city, all Iron Bear kidnapping rock star prodigal daughters aside. Surely that means nothing...

Tell us about yourself: Enjoyer of jrpgs. Fire Emblem, Tales of, Persona, games that are detective/mystery adjacent (currently working my way through Somnium Files!). Rp-wise I'm on the slower side, but I'll happily backtag.

Character Name: Yuri Leclerc
Canon: Fire Emblem: Three Houses
Character Age: 20
Character Height: 5'7"
Faction: Sutoku
Brief Rundown: A proponent of be gay do crimes, before Jigokucho, Yuri was part of an underground society and led a gang that swindled the rich to give to the poor. He grew up impoverished and climbed his way up using his smarts and charms in deceptive ways, and because of that, he's not fazed by all the crime and debauchery here. His past fuels his desire to make life better for the downtrodden and Yuri's highly protective of his friends and those he considers his people. All in all, he's a rogue with a good heart.

Initial Ideas:

GENERAL
Yuri has two things going on personally that I'd love to get others involved with!

1) He's supporting a homeless shelter in Sutoku, and the place is seeing an influx of delinquents from the youth gangs taking refuge from the backlash against them. The shelter will be seeking volunteers, medics, counselors...and perhaps police to sort out the occasional scuffle.

2) This one is for Sutoku folks. Yuri is assembling a crew to smuggle in the black market. icly he'll be looking for people who know how to keep a low profile and can handle danger. He'd be resistant getting someone young involved (nevermind that he's barely legal himself shhh). Honestly, since the game already had suitability screening, oocly I'm open to anybody who's down to crime and we can figure out the ic specifics. You'll get paid well, and the rest of the money will go to support charities in Sutoku.

SUBSTORIES
Drifter Grifter - Yuri will be sympathetic to this guy and would take him in so. If you want to help him not get scammed...
Dogged the Bounty Hunters - He'll be smuggling dangerous weaponry through the black market to capitalize on the business opportunity. Sutokus get a discount but other clans will get hiked prices. I'm leaning towards having him in a supporting role in this plot since he has a lot going on already, but he can fight/venture out to the wasteland if need be.

CR Desires:

- More friends!
- Associates/partner-in-crime
- Sutoku newbies, he's been here a while if you need someone street smart to show you around
- idk, social-reformer types interested in fighting poverty
- Depending on if you meet him through his black market business or his charity project, Enma folks to either get his ass or to work with him on securing resources for the homeless

Matoba is totally willing to help support #2! he has some stuff he'd like to find making its way to him from the black market stuff so, in exchange for that, he's willing to help out with his own information, intimidation tactics, logistics, whatever Yuri needs to help get set up.

oohh that'd be excellent! yuri will try to source the goods matoba's after, maybe even establish a supply line if it's something he needs regularly. information is always welcome! yuri will be operating covertly so idk if there are wards/magic for stealth purposes, but i imagine matoba's knowledge of magic will be beneficial

Matoba is after the hihi'rogane that the bullets during the Night Parade attack were made after, if he can't source it from bullets leftover from then. He only needs a very small amount, enough to make an arrowhead or two! It's unlikely it'll be easy or possible to get yet, I'm gonna be asking the mods later on to see once the Sutoku's hold on the market and their investigations of the Wasteland are deeper in.

As for his contributions he can definitely supply wards that will prevent spells that allow enemies to spy on them or youkai that might try to eavesdrop in their vicinity! He doesn't have any spells regained for outright obfuscation but he can give suggestions on other ways to avoid being spied on or tricked by ayakashi who do have those powers.

HEY THERE FELLOW FREMBLEM. Larcei here is from an old game with clunky graphic and actually she is in Enma but! she also knows a robin hood type thief back home so she wouldn't be immediately hostile to a charming rogue type. She'd be interested in helping out with a homeless shelter--alternatively, she's new and therefore suspicious of Absolutely Everything and would be a little bit more questioning of The Drifter's story.

heyyy! I pulled larcei in heroes. it's good to see old games get some love!

yuri is adverse to enma but I love throwing him at people in the department haha. both ideas work! we could even combine the two and say the drifter is rooming at the shelter. larcei as an enma probably has an arrest warrant for someone who looks suspiciously like the drifter, but yuri is willing to give him the benefit of the doubt?

I haven't played Heroes in years but it also pleases me that the older characters have been showing up so much... in part because it helps making icons

Oooh, that sounds like a fun idea! Larcei would definitely get into an argument about whether or not the drifter is legit or if he's just trying to exploit people (especially after that giant tempting reward offer).

Maybe he can end up dragged out onto a small-medium group adventure to the Wastelands. :|a If the joke FE group thing doesn't happen, they can always potentially tag alongside other peeps.

Or Yuri can possibly rope him into some other normalish activity, who knows.

I'd love to have them hang out more! yuri is skeptical about going out there without some solid leads so he may be the naysayer in this one, but I'm all for doing a joke run.

we could also wait and see what next month's event has in store and do something around town - like they run into each other checking out weapons and then yuri drags him out for dinner or something relaxing idk?

Hmmm! Maybe waiting and seeing as to what next month's event is happening can work out better. So, the midst of the the two meeting up at a weapon shop before Yuri drags Felix out for a dinner would work out just fine. \o/

yes, I'd love to continue CR! let yuri keep an eye out for the anxious boy, he's got friends like mayoi. he could show maoyoi around sutoku, like favorite spots to watch performances and such

That would be so good, actually. He is without his major support network here and so anyone who can help him settle in, especially by taking him around and showing him things, it would be very important to him.

Oh no! Don't worry at all! I think we hit the most important beats anyway and I am very fond of it like it is, so if you'd like we can handwave the end where Mayoi performs and ...probably faints afterwards.

Hello fellow leader of a band of misfit swindlers. Akira's a new addition to Sutoku and would definitely like some pointers.

He'd offer help with the homeless shelter and would be willing to help with the black market business too buuuut maybe when he's more settled.

akira!! I'd love for these two crime boys to meet. yuri can point out sketchy spots to avoid, places that might need part time jobbers, whatever akira is interested in!

more collaborators would be great! no rush at all, I'm planning on yuri being involved in these two projects long term

This fellow new Sutoku would absolutely be pinged by the homeless shelter venture given that he was originally born lower-class himself! He's the sort of person who would make a good counselor... who could also knock people out if needed, but at least he apologizes before he does so? I FEEL LIKE THIS COULD WORK WELL.

I'm sure both skill sets will be very needed at the shelter. in exchange for his help, yuri would lend a hand/make introductions whatever baldr needs as he gets settled in. I see he likes to cook as well! so they could also bond over feeding people

He does! Baldr is sort of his group's Team Mom because lbr, they're an absolute disaster and someone needs to make sure they don't kill themselves or each other look they've got Dist and Shigure in their ranks, this is just chaos waiting to happen

But he is very much the giving sort so honestly just point him in a direction and tell him what he can do to help and he'll get it done! ... and depending on how it's pitched to him, he might even consider the black market thing too but that one would be a harder sell, most likely.

Yuri!! I'd love for these two to get to hang out more. anything to keep Yuri from escaping from the blue lions mess radius. Do you want to keep their TDM thread as game canon? I've been slow lately but I'm up for keeping it going or handwaving, whatever works better!

it's interesting that they have supports in 3hopes now, but playing from white clouds puts a different spin on their relationship. yuri is more inclined to buy into sylvain's facade, for one

sounds perfect to me! it's definitely going to be a different vibe and I'm stoked. Sylvain's, like, at least 30% less murder at this canonpoint and has much less reason to be suspicious of Yuri currently too (those supports were amazing though ngl)
