Just like the TDM set up, Jigokucho is in recovery mode after the dissipation of a curse that befell the city. It was a full-on horror apocalypse.

The curse is gone, there are rumors stirring that the turf war has ended, and the Kappa are all going back down to work on building… something. It’s all pretty hush-hush, but anyone that’s not in the Department can ask freely about it. The Enma has bigger things to be concerned with already anyway (namely the newly named cause of the curse: Haniyasu).

So what does that mean for the next two months? Well, between whatever it is being cooked up in the Underground and everything else, the theme of these two months is Tanabata! How that celebration takes shape in a place like Jigokucho will be revealed as the month goes on, so stay tuned to find out more!

Brief Rundown: Jaika is a Table Top RPG character. I wrote up a full rundown of his backstory, but here's the TL;DR verison:
- Jedi Knight in the Old Republic
- Disgraced after he abandoned the order for a while, along side his sister (also a Jedi)
- They got in a fight and Jaika got blinded in an explosion
- Struggled against a Sith Empire until the grand master of the Jedi Order staged a coup and became a fascist dictator
- Quit and founded his own order of force users called the Knight of Valor
- Imagine basically the exact midpoint between Toph Bei Fong and Obi-Wan Kenobi

CR Desires: Jaika's main method of making friends is to make terrible jokes at people until he finds people who are willing to make terrible jokes back at him. Then they just banter until everyone in earshot wishes they were dead. He's not terribly interested in anything sexual or romantic, but if it comes up naturally I'm not opposed to it, but mainly I want him to annoy people with his bad sense of humor and do Jedi Things.

hello togruta are one of my top three faves and im always delighted when i see more of them!!!!!!!!

i actually had a "togruta padawan in old republic era" tabletop oc for the seven minutes that campaign lasted...those were the days. i threatened to play pazaak to get out of doing chores and his mentor just let him skip doing them.

anyway i dont have any direct ideas but i just want to have cr with a jedi, especially since tama has no idea how to have any sort of relationship with mentor-y types??? especially joking-type mentors?? also he'd be SO PSYCHED to find out space is populated, after learning mars and venus aren't.

My shameful confession is I don’t actually know much about the Old Republic. I never really got into KOTOR and I haven’t read any of the books. I had to look up what Pazaak was!

I think Jaika is in general going to be confused by humans here though, since most of the humans here came from Earth, which he has obviously never heard of. Humans live all OVER the place! Why are all these humans from the same planet that’s apparently so backwater they haven’t even HEARD of aliens???

LISTEN EARTH MIGHT BE DUMB AND BACKWATER BUT THEYVE BEEN EAGERLY ANTICIPATING ALIENS. well ok tama personally has. he reads a lot of early 20s science fiction about venus being inhabited and he was already spoiled on the future being lame there, so he'd be delighted to learn anything he can about Space Culture

"In the Course of the Crimson Kings" (SM Stirling) is actually some 2010s Sci-Fi but it's very clearly an homage to Edgar Rice Burroughs and other classic authors. It shows a vision of Mars as a dying world where a decadent ancient civilization struggles to survive as more and more of the world freezes every year. Then a bunch of Earthlings showed up in rocket ships with their passion and optimism and they made a mess of everything. It's great!

ANYWAY.

Jaika will probably be willing to talk about what aliens are like but it'll take some doing to put it in a framework that makes any sense when he's from an ENTIRELY different galaxy from Earth that still somehow has humans in it. Should be fun!
