Just like the TDM set up, Jigokucho is in recovery mode after the dissipation of a curse that befell the city. It was a full-on horror apocalypse.

The curse is gone, there are rumors stirring that the turf war has ended, and the Kappa are all going back down to work on building… something. It’s all pretty hush-hush, but anyone that’s not in the Department can ask freely about it. The Enma has bigger things to be concerned with already anyway (namely the newly named cause of the curse: Haniyasu).

So what does that mean for the next two months? Well, between whatever it is being cooked up in the Underground and everything else, the theme of these two months is Tanabata! How that celebration takes shape in a place like Jigokucho will be revealed as the month goes on, so stay tuned to find out more!

Tell us about yourself: Hi-oh! Your friendly resident Cat here! Manager of a Coffee Shop by day and an obsessive nerd by night. My usual tag times are a bit over the place because my work hours are constantly changing, but I'm usually active around 8 PM-11 PM PST. Usually, you'll catch me on my off time spamming fandom things and gushing about my dog Zelda. Occasionally I draw or go on about video games. I recently started playing Final Fantasy 14 after years of avoiding it. My usual media interests are things steeped in '90s appeal, and I'm usually caught gushing over nostalgia. Is it an old fandom mostly dead? Chances are I'm still in it. /sob

Character Name: Sha Gojyo

Brief Rundown:

An alternate retelling of a famous mythological figure from an even more famous ancient Chinese story, Sha Gojyo is a half-youkai half-human delinquent with a loud mouth, obnoxious attitude, and flirty demeanor that often mask his more authentic intentions. The world he grew up in was a hell hole and only worsened as he got older. Being a half-breed, he is considered a "taboo" child in his world and was often ostracised from society while also being shown the worst aspects of it all. His back story sucks and is filled to the brim with trauma and pain. But he takes it well and constantly strives to keep an optimistic edge on everything. The type who thinks there's no point getting hung up on the tough stuff when you should be enjoying the good things life offers you when you have it. He is sociable, and a bit obnoxious but is also a fun-loving and well-meaning man who inadvertently built up a horrible reputation and even more atrocious body count due to the people he finds himself hanging around.

Being a CRAU he comes from Slumscape and is thus also possessed by an amabie. A water-based luck youkai. She is often shy and quiet, especially around humans but will occasionally make herself known if the setting is right. Her presence has caused some physical changes to his body, such as scattered scales along his skin, some floppy fin ears, webbing between his fingers and toes, and gills to be able to breathe underwater!

Just one and a half youkai in a mostly human-looking meat suit, nothing to see here~

Initial Ideas: Speaking of- I wish to spend a little more time concentrating on getting Gojyo's Amabie, Unabara, more of a voice this month. So I plan on making at least one of my monthly event posts focused on her while she takes possession of Gojyo.

Otherwise, Gojyo himself is recovering from last month's event. It didn't have too strong of an effect on him, but it left him somewhat paranoid and made it so that he ended up ostracizing himself from many people. He has gotten some help from Emily to ease his worries, but he may have inadvertently made a secret hide-away in the waters of the underground ocean resort in the meantime. He's probably going to be spending a lot of this month acting like none of that happened and blowing off any of the heavy stuff for some easy ways to have fun and forget it all.

CR Desires: Man, I want to get Gojyo past his initial party-boy shell and get him to open up to people more. He's been chiefly having the time of his life in Jigoku-Cho as the previous two worlds he lived in felt far more like Hell than this place has. So more deep, substantial CR with slow-burn characters learning to open up to each other is my jam.

That said, Gojyo always looks for someone to go out with and have fun. One-night stands, friends with benefits, fight buddies, drinking buddies, shipping, etc. He is always open to finding people who want to go out and have fun. If you're looking for a good friend who is a lousy example, or perhaps a reliable and well-meaning brother figure, Gojyo is your guy.

Anything else: Saiyuki is a serious with many adult-oriented situations and topics brought up. Gojyo himself has a backstory that deals with many traumatic situations and very intense topics that are most certainly not suited for everyone. Ahahah the worst part is one of them recently got me a few of the games too. Man oh man I think I know what I'm going to be doing.

Also yes please in joining Gojyo on his all too active "Fuck the Police" campaign in this game. This has been an ongoing trend and the more active participants he can have in it the better!

Oh man, we need them to go for drinks. Maybe meet during one of the minievents and let things get out of control? (You know! For fun!)
