Just like the TDM set up, Jigokucho is in recovery mode after the dissipation of a curse that befell the city. It was a full-on horror apocalypse.

The curse is gone, there are rumors stirring that the turf war has ended, and the Kappa are all going back down to work on building… something. It’s all pretty hush-hush, but anyone that’s not in the Department can ask freely about it. The Enma has bigger things to be concerned with already anyway (namely the newly named cause of the curse: Haniyasu).

So what does that mean for the next two months? Well, between whatever it is being cooked up in the Underground and everything else, the theme of these two months is Tanabata! How that celebration takes shape in a place like Jigokucho will be revealed as the month goes on, so stay tuned to find out more!

Tell us about yourself: Artist, gamedev, eternal shitposter, tabletop nut, etc. I do a lot of stupid doodles in between commission work, patreon, my day job, and such. I also live in Australia so my tag times are going to be weird.

Character Name: Kimmuriel Oblodra

Brief Rundown: Kimmuriel is a five foot one psionicist and mercenary captain who is deadpan 90% of the time and is usually shouting at someone in disbelief for that last 10% about a bad idea. He's a drow from the Forgotten Realms setting so he calls every yokai a demon and will bitch people out in Undercommon sometimes. He's an inch less irritable now that the blood rain has stopped, which is not a lot.

He's also ranked up this month! Exciting.

Initial Ideas: Now that the world's worst bad vibes headache has stopped happening to him and he has had a bit more responsibility foisted on him than running around trying to clean up messes after the fact, Kimmuriel is going to be actually settling a bit and seeing if he can bolster his individual reputation through his usable skills.

What all this means essentially is that he will be starting to really gather things for his own services and running a kitbashed workshop out of his apartment, essentially. He's focusing on getting equipment he can use to distill and make poison out of the weird shit they've got down here, but as it turns out, he's also something of a professional when it comes to item-making! While he can't imbue any items to give them magical powers (yet), he's actually pretty good when it comes to making hidden compartments and weaponry with additional tricks to them and all that. If you need something with an extra hidden edge or customization, he can provide that, for a price.

He'll also be around with substories though I'm more likely to tag out to other folks when it comes to that. He's gonna be a bit busy this month with his own stuff for once.

CR Desires: Unhelpfully: seriously, anything. I love any and all CR.
More specifically:
- People who he can nerd out about some weird interest with. Kimmuriel is a prickly little bastard but he does respect people who are just genuinely into their weird hobbies that he might also overlap with.
- People who are about his equivalent of old, haha. Both people who are genuinely centuries old and who are about the equivalent of middle age are all good. He's used to a lot of folks he knows being younger than him by a mile but he does sort of vaguely miss being able to complain with older people.
- Negative CR is totally okay! If you do not like Kimmuriel thats a legitimate reaction because though he's gotten slightly better over a century and some change, he still approaches sensitive topics he doesn't care about with either stonewalling or 'goes straight for the kneecaps'. Also in general he just doesn't give a shit about things so he's inclined to be callous or detached or just a real shithead!

Anything else:
General permissions. I'll have a more detailed one for when he starts getting more invasive powers back.

i saw equipment to make poison with and immediately zoomed over here...hello! that's actually something emily would be highly interested in particularly if he needs/wants assistance getting anything from the black market, as she does the opposite and gets supplies for medicines. regardless, she'd be curious about what he's making and his skills!

oh excellent!! he's always down to make more connections that can get him materials. he'd be fine with putting in some time at emily's clinic to balance the debt of those connections as well, since it'll take some time for his experiments to pay off properly

he'll be focusing on trying to replicate drow sleeping poison first (so, medieval tranquilizer basically) but it'll probably take him a while to figure out the right balance/how to reliably make more of it. i think he'd also be pretty interested in what she's making too tbh - he can absolutely respect a professional

honestly as long as he'll put up with her being interested in the process of it all she'd even do it for no debt - she respects other experts as it happens, but she'll never say no to more volunteers. they are constantly doing their Best over there.

Yo! Just wanted to say, I enjoyed our May thread together and am looking forward to perhaps doing a shenanigan with Kimmuriel sometime. Doesn't have to be this month! Perhaps in the future they can do snooping around plot events or gadget nerdery, oldschool item mechanisms would probably be interesting for Yizhi to learn about. :3

tbh kimm will definitely be out and about shopping for parts and the like this month so I'd def be down for him bumping into yizhi while he's doing that, if that works for you!
