September OOC Intro/CR Meme!

Want to jump right in? This month's Substories are posted here!. As for what's been going on...

Tanabata, and the opening of Sai no Kawara in the Underground, ended in a terrible (but still mild by the way things in this game go) incident where the rebellious daughter of the ultra wealthy Finance Wolf Kaberou Kannazaki and OH BOY is that a huge bounty for her return!

With the stakes high (and personal, at least in the case of the Shuten Clan), each faction is going to be making their own attempts to Save The Girl and Get The Prize, with the Iron Bear and his clan of (possibly Haniyasu worshipping) scavengers standing between them and victory.

SO! What this means is this first month will be focus on setting the stage for a race through the wasteland, and the big event next month will focus on that, as well as which faction will ultimately succeed. SO YEAH THERE'S STUFF HAPPENING.

All the while, with spook season coming, things almost seem too normal in the city, all Iron Bear kidnapping rock star prodigal daughters aside. Surely that means nothing...

Tell us about yourself: Hello everyone, Fey here! I generally tag evenings/nights (PST) and I have a wonky sleeping schedule, so don't mind those timestamps. I'm a great lover of all sorts of media. Musical theatre, anime, western animation, live action film & tv and video games are all my jam. In non-fandom hobbies, I'm an avid cook/baker and I knit very, very slowly. Nice to meet you all.

Brief Rundown: Kim Kitsuragi is a 43-year old police detective who invests a great deal in maintaining his image as an aggressively ordinary and professional man. He has no special powers or secret identities to maintain! He's just Like That -- so tightly wound it's a miracle he hasn't snapped yet, keeping every aspect of his life regimented and controlled and uncomfortable with blatant showings of emotion. It's a lonely way to live.

Underneath it all is a person who would secretly like to go just a little batshit, as a treat. He has a seemingly infinite well of patience, a cool head, a tendency to write everything down, an incredibly dry sense of humour, a protective streak and a tendency to lecture that he's actively trying to curb. He's wildly passionate about his secret hobbies (cars, loud terrible music, big machines that make big noises, board games, going really, really fast) and has a poorly concealed competitive streak. He's also just kind of a weirdo! His permissions post has a little more detail about his appearance & demeanor, so check that out if you'd like to know more.

Initial Ideas:
- He works at the local 7/11 for all your midnight beer, cigarette, snack and condom runs
- He's going to start working part-time at a local tailor
- He volunteers at the clinic, for anyone suffering from injuries/any co-workers
- General slice of life stuff -- grocery shopping, clothes shopping, staring covetuously at board games in the window of a hobby shop, grabbing some lunch, meet him at the gay bar, etc etc
- He will be participating in 3/4 but will be specifically interested in Wasteland stuff, of course! He'll be happy to help sabotage this mysterious faction and investigate the Iron Bear in an effort to save The Girl
- Knowing that going to the Wasteland is imminent, he will be working on his very fast, very obnoxious car to get it in tip top shape, just in case!
- Considering getting him some power boosts -- he may be in need of some help figuring that stuff out as he's Normie Supreme

CR Desires: Anything! Some peers his own age, people to talk to about identity issues if they can open him up enough, fellow detectives looking into things, the younger crowd in need of mentorship or general spoilsportery, fellow techies and nerds, people to commiserate with about missing home... I would, however, really love for him to get some friends/confidants he feels comfortable with his own age! He's a reticent man who's difficult to get close to, and it would be nice for someone to be able to worm their way underneath that cool exterior.

Anything else: I have been unusually slow! Last month brought with it a lot of family emergencies that deeply impacted my tagging speed. Hoping that September/October will be better, but thank you so much to anyone who has been tagging with me for being patient with me, and my apologies for the long waits!

I would love CR with Kim. Though he is himself a first class weirdo, Godot is a competent lawyer and will be inclined to ally with a police detective, for that classic AA prosecutor/detective team-up vibe. (perhaps you like coffee, Detective Kitsuragi?)

Also, sneering at the youths is fun.

Yesss, I would love to have them team-up -- and also for them to be adults together lol they can commiserate over being older than the norm! And tbh, I'm definitely down for coffee CR too... I saw you tagged me on the sutoku network post, but I'll keep an eye out for you so that they can meet in person as well (so Godot can sneer at the convenience store shit that Kim drinks on the regular)

But also! I think that a great segue into talking about his brand spankin new powers is him asking her about mako, like you left a wonderful lil breadcrumb for in your last tag! How do you feel about them meeting up, having a chat about her canonmates, and then segue into talking about mako (and powers as a whole)?
