Both are fun options! Rampagey would bring out Sheliak's true self more, especially if Genkei takes control of Samatoki. Sheliak has a lot of conflicted feelings about his own magic that he refuses to address.
The dissociative route could lead to some interesting mage lore since mages don't always feel things the same way humans do. They are both a magical being and an echo of their previous human selves so their sense of reality gets blurred sometimes. Sheliak feels more human in Jigokucho with most of his magic sealed away but some of his senses are starting to dim again now that he has his water magic back.
