March OOC intro!

Welcome Lost Souls! And also, welcome to this round's group of new players!

Firstly, the game officially opens (as in IC posting is allowed) on March 5th. What's on the plate for this month? Well there's the Substories for this month you can get started on, and the overall mood of the city is that everyone is preparing for this year's Night Parade, a major event meant to foster a unity within the community and promote (relative) peace between the various factions!

Unfortunately, tensions are very high with the new Lost Souls coming in, and while on the surface the Factions seem to be working together to make the parade success, internally each of them believes the other is plotting for a power grab at the event.

What's gonna happen? Stay tuned and find out...

Character Name: Emily Dyer

Brief Rundown: A doctor who practically wears her profession on her sleeve even when not in uniform, Emily is a former death game participant who'd like to keep that as under wraps as she possibly can. Having lived through many, many deaths, timeloops, and horrors, she's just glad to be out of all that mess and instead be somewhere else. Kindhearted, friendly, but very practical, she's cautious and secretly something of an atoner given her complicated past. You can expect her to put herself to the side in order to help other people, and consider it the right thing to do. She's a team player for sure, though, and happy to support. Emily is also coming in as a CRAU from

slumscape, which means she not only looks different from canon - bearing a set of crow black wings for the obvious one- she came with a youkai's soul bound into her own. The daitengu, going by "Hibiki", is her constant companion and commentator, though what they do and say is not often at the surface unless they choose to come forth. Living through months in a crumbling youkai city has given Emily some more resolve than she would have had otherwise, a crash course in handing supernatural injury and illness, and given her a headstart in understanding new worlds to live in. There's some more info about her CRAU and the changes here.

Initial Ideas: To start with, Emily's main goal is going to be finding solid work to keep up with to gain both reputation and money to save towards the future. Her passion is medicine, and catching wind of how it's harder for faction members to get treated is going to spark some ideas in her that can't be fulfilled without money and time. As it is, she'll remain a helpful presence wherever she goes and try to get her bearings while concealing that she's not pleased to be upended yet again in her life. She'll also be on the hunt for a good bookstore and potentially a tailor to assist with modifying some clothes to accommodate wings. I'd love for her to get roped into things that aren't in her comfort zone while she's temping in hell and trying to find her place.

Since they share a faction Ryouma will be interested in getting to know Emily and also because her being a doctor is a very useful thing to be! Knowing who has good ideas and who has what knowledge is a good thing to keep track of and of course, he'd offer to help her out with anything she needs.

Also: he is going to be wanting to know all the things about stuff from slumscape if he learns about her daitengu because he's very invested in solving Izō's Karasu problem and can't ask Izō anything directly. (':

She'll be happy to get to know him right back! Having faction friends is a major plus in her book, and any connections she can make, she wants to, as well as letting people know there's someone who won't overcharge them to treat them.

And as far as her youkai goes, I'm sure it'll come up sooner rather than later. Izo's a close friend of hers, so she knows exactly how hard it is trying to ask him about things that he's not talking about. She can even step back and let the tengu talk to give Ryouma an expert opinion!

He is going to be so pleased that Izō made close friends lmaooo. I also know that Izō said plenty of not nice things about him that he'll be fully prepared to come up once he knows Izō's friends are a thing... just opens this large can of angst all over this hell situation it's FINE.

Getting to talk to her tengu would be helpful! He's working all on guesstimations (as usual) about how it all works and is in a position where Karasu can screw with him easily because Ryouma's not sure how much he can hurt Izō other than assuming that killing Izō would be bad because they're sharing a body.

Hopefully he won't end up having to roll by wherever she sets up work too much but he's going to attempt the diplomacy option with oni so less an if than a when lmao

Miraaaaaaaaaaaaa. Hello! ♥️🥺 We're in a game together again, ahhh...!

I'm so excited for Day and Emily to meet up. I'll keep tagging our TDM thread if you're up for it since I feel like Day is very soft for her with the direction it's going. Either way, he will try his best to help her out so if she needs a hand in getting work - whether it's freelance stuff or something more permanent if he can sniff that out - Day will do his best to help her!

Oh please do! She already likes Day and his attitude, and it's helpful when you're stuck in the line from hell....in hell? Hell line. Definitely going to seek him out in the future, too!

My shift hours are so wild these days and so is my poor circadian rhythm but it will not deter me from the cute friendship of Emily and Day!! I really love their rapport and Day is going to do his best to help her out.

Even if it's simple as him like... Hovering his hand over her head while it's raining or something. He's going to be helpful!!
