Welcome Lost Souls! And also, welcome to this round's group of new players!

Firstly, the game officially opens (as in IC posting is allowed) on March 5th. What's on the plate for this month? Well there's the Substories for this month you can get started on, and the overall mood of the city is that everyone is preparing for this year's Night Parade, a major event meant to foster a unity within the community and promote (relative) peace between the various factions!

Unfortunately, tensions are very high with the new Lost Souls coming in, and while on the surface the Factions seem to be working together to make the parade success, internally each of them believes the other is plotting for a power grab at the event.

What's gonna happen? Stay tuned and find out...

Tell us about yourself: Hello everyone, Fey here! I generally tag evenings/nights (PST) and I have a wonky sleeping schedule, so don't mind those timestamps. I'm a great lover of all sorts of media. Musical theatre, anime, western animation, live action film & tv and video games are all my jam. In non-fandom hobbies, I'm an avid cook/baker and I knit very, very slowly. Nice to meet you all.

Character Name: Kim Kitsuragi
Canon: Disco Elysium
Faction: Sutoku Alliance
Brief Rundown: Kim Kitsuragi is a 43-year old police detective who invests a great deal in maintaining his image as an aggressively ordinary and professional man. He has no special powers or secret identities to maintain! He's just Like That -- so tightly wound it's a miracle he hasn't snapped yet, keeping every aspect of his life regimented and controlled and uncomfortable with blatant showings of emotion. It's a lonely way to live.

Underneath it all is a person who would secretly like to go just a little batshit, as a treat. He has a seemingly infinite well of patience, a cool head, a tendency to write everything down, an incredibly dry sense of humour, and a protective streak and a tendency to lecture that he's actively trying to curb. He's wildly passionate about his secret hobbies (cars, loud terrible music, big machines that make big noises, board games, going really, really fast) and has a poorly concealed competitive streak. He's also just kind of a weirdo! His permissions post has a little more detail about his appearance & demeanor, so check that out if you'd like to know more.

Initial Ideas: Kim is a man who is deeply entrenched in both his ideas of reality and very strict rituals he's kept to for a number of years. This means that all of this is wildly out of his comfort zone, and he'll be spending the first month coping with that! It's also a great time for him to make connections; the camaraderie of "what the fuck is going on here" is a very strong one. As for the substories...

DOMS WANTED is a substory he's extremely unlikely to participate in, but on the off-chance he can be wheedled into it, it would be very funny! Mainly on account of the fact that he'd be very good at it. JACKET QUEST is much more in his wheelhouse, in which he'd just try to convince the man to take a longer way around, though he'd also try to convince the man to take off a jacket out of a sense of irritation alone. For NIGHT PARADE, keeping the peace is great in his book and he needs to stay busy to keep himself from going completely nuts. He'll be around for basic organization, breaking up fights, and denying that he keeps getting distracted by the cool floats. He will not himself be participating in HIGH DEFINITION but will be available to be Lieutenant Drug Trip Babysitter. It won't be his first time.

If we played on the TDM and you'd like to keep it game canon, I'm down, just let me know! And in general, I'm up for just about anything.

Anything else: Disco Elysium is a game that deals with a lot of heavy content, though the ones that Kim deals with most prominently as a gay biracial man are racism and homophobia. I won't spring that onto anyone without permission, but if you'd like to avoid all of that entirely, let me know and I'll be sure to make a note of it!

Anyway yes, I'm down to keep TDM canon! I really look forward to them having a nice, normal first conversation and then meeting again underneath some absolutely batshit (or possibly brawl-related) circumstances.

Omg it's Fey! (It's Kit, I played Duo and Blue in MoM!) I'm glad I get to play with you again, their thread so far is hitting on some real interesting stuff so if you'd like to keep going on it/keep it for game canon I am 100% cool with that! Especially since it looks like they'll be coworkers now.

It's good for Matoba to be forced to interact with people that he would likely have discounted in his canon, since he normally shows a complete disregard for those who are sightless. And Kim is making him think outside of his own experiences, where he has been indoctrinated with a very narrow and specific worldview especially when it comes to how to deal with the supernatural. Also, Kim being a cop would be hilarious to him, because he's definitely essentially a shady yakuza boss but for the supernatural and is known to have political sway. Having a straight man like Kim to counter his off the walls worldview within the clan is going to be a good thing, lol.

Yes, I'd absolutely like to keep it going, and if you're looking to have Matoba interact with some normie people, Kim here is the normiest of all normies. I think they'll have a really fun dynamic, especially when Kim is no longer just trying to keep from losing his mind lol
