What's on the plate for this month? Well there's the Substories for this month you can get started on. Generally, the city is still recovering from the disastrous ending of the Night Parade last month. Clean up has been going well, but unfortunately the ongoing turf war over The Underground between the Tamamo and Shuten clans has kept tensions from winding down. On top of that, the Daitengu crashed their own funeral and implicated the Enma as being responsible, in some way, for the incident as well as their "assassination". Things are pretty chaotic!

And what's with this sudden infection of mysterious Haniwa figurines happening now? One can't help but wonder if this isn't coincidence...

What's gonna happen? Stay tuned and find out...

i am rrrrrrrrrrrreal tempted by strive i gotta say, i've not played a GG in actual ass decades now it feels like ~~being a may main and watching totsugeki memes pop off made me feel some kinda way~~ but i think my hands would explode if i put a digit on a fightstick again.

Looool I was a Jam main since XX days and Strive kinda turned me off for, waves hands, LOTS OF MECHANICAL REASONS aside from just not having my main. I still play +R nowadays like a salty old lady cuz a lot of people are still active here, I did play Rev2 Jam for a little while after she dropped though

TERRY IS SO GOOD IN THIS ANIME, I DON'T WANNA SPOIL ANYTHING BUT THERE'S VERY GOOD FATAL FURY CONTENT..... I rewatched the whole thing in an afternoon so it's pretty quick! The episodes are real short once you chop the OP/ED segments and previews off. It only covers KOF'94 with a bit of Fatal Fury and Art of Fighting stuff thrown in but the next season is supposed to be 95-96 maybe?? They showed Goenitz so I assume it's going to be at least through 96

also it only just hit me that jam isnt on the roster because jam is Always on the roster, i really dont know what the hell strive is doing with its list esp when iirc baiken is dlc And entirely changed style-wise. admittedly i am a simple idiot enby, i sees testament's changes and i 👀 reflexively, but i also have a very complicated history with mechanic changes in fighting games. i can't remember this how do combo with my brain because of the visual problem, its all just muscle memory, so i can only do the motions on the controller i learned them on. so i barely parse mechanical changes without Feeling them first ig?? this all sounds dumb but tbf its a very dumb problem. i am all gamefeel and gamefeel has become "wrist hurt" but this will always be my first genre of videogames...now im ancient and have like 12 rpgs going right now, all unfinished...

YEAH she was in Rev (I think actually she was the first DLC char for vanilla Rev, Baiken was Rev2, right,) but while her gameplan wasn't TOO too changed in that game, in Strive? Psssshhhttttt even just the basic changes to the gatling system would change her SO much that she'd be a totally different character, imo. And I'm just... not really about it, it sort of kills the kind of gameplay I like (for reference, I also play Felicia in VS lol)

I was also very happy to see Testament back FINALLY!!! At last, learned that seclusion is not happiness.... And I'm also very excited to see what they did with them, but all the Tes players I know were really (unsure) about it because Anji also was changed like so much from his last iteration gameplan that I feel like there's this reaction for any returning characters, where it's like, that's nice but it's no longer the kind of character I like to play LOL. Most people have moved on to new characters by now, too.

And yeah that's why I've stopped playing at all seriously lately- I don't have the time/energy to lab anymore and I also can't netplay because I don't have a wired connection available, and I'm still leery about going to the arcade with covid.... It's a lot 😔

yeah i def have that issue wrt a lot of, i dont like to say it this bluntly but arcsys specifically. i know other games get tired sometimes having the movepool so static, but character attachment Means something and having to learn a playstyle you dont jive with because you've followed someone for years is hell itself and i am dyink.

granted i am also old enough to be mad by even very simple stuff like "jun is dead lmao" in tekken 3, after putting my entire soul and local circuit in to tekken tag. im better at tag games and losing my ~~first lesbian ship~~ lead in was the first time fighters ever broke my heart. i think thats around when i went to kof and eventually arcsys to soothe my soul, but the scene in upstate new york was very, lets say, dudebro. so i basically dropped from local circuits because of Bad Culture lmao. even in current times at the most pristine of covid-compliant arcades the scene up here is still trapped in 1999 socially and i do not have time to deal with children anymore. i'm tired. please. my ping isnt good enough for online...

Yeah I tried to use Sol at the start of Xrd and I just wasn't feeling it.... I used him a little bit in AC even but his playstyle is WAY different between AC and Xrd anyway. And lmao I can only imagine, NYC scene is pretty chill but there's so much twitter drama all the time now that I'm just kinda over it......... Also man I'm the opposite I'm awful at composing teams for tag games LOL
