Welcome Lost Souls! And also, welcome to this round's group of new players!

What's on the plate for this month? Well there's the Substories for this month you can get started on. Generally, the city is still recovering from the disastrous ending of the Night Parade last month. Clean up has been going well, but unfortunately the ongoing turf war over The Underground between the Tamamo and Shuten clans has kept tensions from winding down. On top of that, the Daitengu crashed their own funeral and implicated the Enma as being responsible, in some way, for the incident as well as their "assassination". Things are pretty chaotic!

And what's with this sudden infection of mysterious Haniwa figurines happening now? One can't help but wonder if this isn't coincidence...

What's gonna happen? Stay tuned and find out...

Brief Rundown: Local alcoholic, problematic bisexual, pseudo-immortal mercenary, and all around bastard loathes self and life, actively sabotaging her own attempts to stay detached from people while diligently maintaining the world record for most cigarettes smoked by a single human being.

Initial Ideas:

→ Nearly 7,000-year-old immortal suddenly nerf'd to mortal, triggering existential crisis, depressive episode, and compensatory reckless behavior — please come save her from herself.
→ New recruit to the Department of Enma who is stubborn, cranky, and violent — may require wrangling by others in her faction.

i kind of adore Idiot Who Just Learned Basic Decency Tries To Help Hungover Immortal And Fails Repeatedly: the thread quite a bit, so if you don't mind that horrible trainwreck being vaguely canon, i would appreciate it. even if we handwave the ending of it, he very rarely gets put in positions where he has to be the one picking people up, given everyone around him babies him.

also its not as bad as being an immortal, but he's a repeatedly-reincarnated soul who ended up with timetravel that thankfully doesn't work in jigoku, so he'd kind of sorta get the jarringness of sudden mortality? in a theoretical way? but he's also an idiot who never shuts up, so. poison in the sugar.

honestly im 50/50 on if he'd turn in to an awkward weenie if they ran across each other a second time, or if he'd continue his gods shes cool sugoi half thought.

honestly, he's swiping a haniwa to name after his absent s/o and to thus make his present s/o stress out, but he probably is going to fall for the ember app entirely based on well someone told him these are useful devices so he should just do what they say, he sucks at technology

i'm still in debate over the others because he and his boyfriend-whos-present are going to be anxiously joined at the hip for the first month or so, and minakami might be smart enough to tell him not to eat free things, but they're also inevitably going to end up on buttquest. so frankly interjecting on any of that works for me

hiii welcome I’m Danni!! let’s for sure keep that TDM CR a-going, I love Andy already. Kamui is Shuten but we can easily assume she didn’t get her formal assignment yet? :|a

A longer-ish term idea is Kamui being able to share that he is a baby immortal— he’s a little secretive about it because he is pretending very hard to be normal, but he’s kept the memories of a timeloop AND has a mystical eye that won’t keep him from getting killed but prevents illness and aging. BUT in the short term i mostly want her to continue to menace him. sadly he is drawn to mean chaotic women, it’s a problem LMAO.

I would absolutely love to tag Andy somehow! Emily isn't a drinker or a fighter, but she's a doctor who ends up patching up the reckless and is in the midst of creating a clinic to aid Lost Souls, so that's one possible angle. Another is running across each other in the streets, since Emily's day job is being a singer at a nightclub, meaning she leaves at late hours and is generally witness to whatever tends to happen then.

While she isn't exactly immortal herself, Emily's been through a lot of deaths - like a lot, and ended up coming back from them to go die again, so she can sympathize on the front of "why doesn't it just stick for once" and "depression is inevitable."
